Up In The Stars

Up In The Stars

She is staring and she wants to know,

Why did you leave her and where did you go?

She stares at the night sky for hours,

Wanting to know if you're up in the stars.

She is waiting for you everyday,

Will you come and will you stay?

She stares at the night sky for hours,

Needing to know if you're up in the stars

She is breaking down slowly,

Why did you have to make her so lonely?

She stares at the night sky for hours,

Tell her, are you up in the stars?

She is still waiting for you,

Will you tell her that you were not true?

She stares at the night sky for hours,

Are you up in the stars?

  1. This composition was short but powerful, and a little whimsical I felt. I appreciate how you change the last line of every stanza with to describe her changing emotions throughout. Wonderful!
I haven't been able to read a lot because I've been occupied with work but the last book I read was the Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. Hope you're doing fine too.
